Cardispan is marketed as a powerful weight loss supplement that removes excess fat overall but especially in the thighs, hips and abdomen. Cardispan is thought to be formulated with an essential amino acid referred to as L-carnitine. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, L-carnitine is produced naturally in the body and serves the purpose of turning fat into energy. Deficiency in L-carnitine production is caused by health conditions such as angina or use of certain medications. Supplemental L-carnitine in the form of Cardispan may offer a reduction in fat mass to improve weight loss results. However, Cardispan is not FDA approved, and no research exists to conclude effectiveness or potential adverse side effects.
